Q: How far in advance should I send my wedding save the dates?
A: For local weddings, we recommend sending your save the dates at least 6 months in advance. If you’re planning a destination wedding, consider sending your save the dates about 9 months prior to your wedding date, so that your guests have time to make the necessary travel plans.
Q: What information should I put on my save the date invitations?
A: Your save the dates should include your names, the wedding date and location (city and county). You can also include a mention that a formal invitation will follow, or a link to your wedding website.
Q: Should I send save the dates to everyone on my guest list?
A: Yes. Your save the dates should be sent to all your wedding guests, so finalise your list prior to sending out.
Q: Whose name goes first on save the date cards?
A: Traditionally, the bride’s name goes first on save the dates. However, this is a personal choice to make, so go with what feels right to you (and your fiancé(e) of course).
Q: Should I include plus ones on my save the dates?
A: Guests who are married or are in a serious relationship, should be given a plus-one on save the dates. If you choose to include a plus-one, try to name the person instead of just adding "and guest."
